How it all began
2017
Vincenzo Farms
Jen and Mike knew their children would be 4th generation 4-H livestock exhibitors, so they needed more land for this to happen. They purchased their dream home in Thibodaux and named it Vincenzo Farms after Jen's great, great grandfather, Vincenzo Sotile, who immigrated from Sicily in 1891. Vincenzo's original ship manifest from Palermo to the Port of New Orleans is pictured. With Mike's research and genealogy help, Jen and the kids officially became citizens of Italy!
2020
Citrus Sisters
2020 Covid Pandemic boredom and the desire to have "their own money" pushed Eleanor and Amelia into selling satsumas and satsuma juice from the citrus orchard on Vincenzo Farms. Jen, following her parents footsteps, made it a business learning opportunity, teaching them about expenses, profit, loss and marketing. They came up with a business plan and negotiated a deal with Jen and Mike: Mom and dad would cover expenses as long as they donated 1/2 of their profits to charity.
2021
Success
As their customer base grew, they added new products, such as fresh juice, homemade butter and of course HONEY. They have since donated thousands of dollars to local charities and have quite a presence on social media.
2022
Thibodaux Bee Company
The demand for local honey, the success of Citrus Sisters and the love of a hobby have allowed for expansion to a fully operational honey producing business.
